The research work developed within CLIM-AMAZON will thus address the following research topics:

  1. Determine Amazon basin sediment sources based on the geology database.
  2. Study the water and suspended load of the Amazon River and tributaries.
  3. Study the drillings of the Amazon delta and fan within a chronological framework.
  4. Remote sensing studies to assess the present temporal dynamic of sediment discharge within the basin.
  5. Predictive modelling for high fan rate sedimentation.
  6. Upper Miocene to Holocene climatic and geodynamic evolution of the Amazon basin based on the sedimentary record
